Ty Reeder

Pickup Man

Legacy Cowboy, Bareback Rider, and Full-Time Wrangler

Hailing from the wilds of Stone, Idaho, Ty Reeder didn’t just stumble into the rodeo world—he was born for it. Following in the legendary bootsteps of his father, Brett Reeder, a renowned pickup man himself, Ty has been wrangling broncs and cowboys since 2008, when he got his start with Bud Kirby. And he’s no slouch—Ty’s been voted Wilderness Circuit Finals Pickup Man an impressive nine times!

Before taking on the role of pickup man, Ty spent plenty of time on the back of a bucking bronc and bull, competing in bareback and bull riding. With ten circuit finals qualifications in bareback riding and five in bull riding, he’s no stranger to the rodeo arena (or the bruises that come with it).

These days, Ty’s greatest accomplishment is his family—his wife, Jeanie, and their four kids—who keep him on his toes as much as the ranch they run in Stone, Idaho. He loves every minute of being a cowboy, especially when his family is by his side (even if the cows don’t always listen). When he’s not out working with Legacy Pro Rodeo, you can find Ty back home, living the dream, herding cattle, and perhaps attempting to convince his kids that ranch chores are a “fun family bonding activity.”
